Here
are some Tips on Camping or Renting a Cabin
We all want to save money, right? But you
don't have to sacrifice fun just to save money - you can have both.
Outdoor camping is something that you can enjoy and remember for a long
time. Even if you have never set up a tent or started a campfire you can
enjoy the outdoors with your friends and family.
Try renting a screened shelter or a
cabin. They usually come with stoves, bedrooms, bathrooms, and plumbing,
but not all have electricity or a refrigerator. A television may or may
not be included, but if you really want to have a great time, leave the
TV off.
Be sure to pack properly for your trip.
You'll need food, water, floats, towels, cards, flashlights, batteries,
and coats. Don't forget personal stuff like soap, detergent, and
toothpaste! Try catching your own food if you are close to a lake or
river, otherwise be sure to include canned food and perishable food in
an ice chest. Think about bringing an extra ice chest just packed with
ice. Try letting your younger kids pack their own trunks or suitcases
just for fun, but be sure you double check everything yourself. That
will help built their excitement and make them feel independent.
The way to truly have fun and enjoy
nature is to just get out there in it. Look for locations next to water,
hills, or rocks to climb. Take time to explore the area, climb trees,
built rope swings, and play games. Then you'll have an experience that
will last a lifetime.
